Luana Popovic began pilates training in 2002 after her third child was born. Suffering from degenerative disc issues associated from incorrect weight training methods and long distance running. The advise given was spinal fusion surgery. Not wanting to opt for surgery Luana started Pilates to help strengthen her core and correct her postural alignment. Pilates has had added benefits along the way such as helping her long distance running. Luana was able to decrease her half marathon times and was able to recover from long distance runs far faster than previously. She gained her accreditation in 2007 with the Australian Pilates Method Association as a Level 2 Pilates Instructor and has also a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction with National Pilates Training,Melbourne.

During her Pilates classes she discovered that her body began to positively change as a result of building body awareness through physical movements. Her breathing, posture and core strength improved dramatically and inspired her to become a Pilates Instructor.
Luana enjoys working with clients of all ages and levels of fitness. She sees Pilates as an excellent exercise method to assist with postural problems, improve core strength and endurance and rehabilitate injuries. Luana is also interested in pelvic floor health and the importance of it in the wellbeing of men and women. “I feel most satisfied when my clients leave their classes feeling invigorated and having learnt more about their body/mind connection.”

Luana Popovic is a member of Pilates Alliance Australasia –  an independant organisation supporting the integrity and high standards of Pilates.Beaumaris Pilates opened in March 2010 and serves the community around Bayside, Mentone, Blackrock, Beaumaris, Sandringham and Mordialloc.



Tamara began training in Pilates at the age of 15, as a dancer at The Australian Ballet School.  Since then she has continued to incorporate Pilates as a part of her lifestyle.  In particular over the past 10 years.
Tamara has used pilates to help her rehabilitate from a back injury and more recently for the fantastic pre and postnatal advantages after 2 children.

Tamara’s desire is to encourage all ages and body types to include Pilates into their lifestyle and experience the wonderful benefits Pilates can bring to a person.  Working with clients to maintain functional body movement and create body awareness so that everyday living, moving and breathing is easeful and people can then get the most out of their life.
This has being Tamara’s driving force and her then transition from student to teacher.

Val was introduced to the Pilates Method back in 2007 and furthered her education by completing the APMA (Australian Pilates Method Association) Instructor Course at the Physicalmind Institute.

Val’s love of Pilates stems from the transforming power it’s had in her own life both physically and pyschologically. In Joseph Pilates words “It is the mind itself which builds the body” – words she lives by. She has a passion for snowboarding and stand-up paddleboarding and has found Pilates to complement both of these activities dramatically.

Val is also a Mum to her gorgeous toddler and knows first hand the demands that pregnancy has on the body and relishes helping other women prepare themselves both pre and postnatally.

Val looks forward to assisting her clients with their journey to grow and constantly improve their Pilates practice

I moved from Liverpool UK to Melbourne in 2011 for the amazing lifestyle that Australia offers.
I discovered the love for Pilates nearly 4 years ago. It was interesting, fun and I could feel improvements and strengthening within only a couple of months of practice.
I wanted to learn more about Pilates, to further improve my own technique and skills, which then turned into a decision to change my career.

I completed Cert IV Pilates in August 2016 and currently studying Diploma of Clinical Pilates with Breathe Education.
Loving my new career as a Pilates Instructor, helping people improve fitness and mobility to allow the body to function more effectively.

Love to travel, slightly obsessed with eating out in restaurants and spending time with my husband and friends in Melbourne.
